Cockpit side panels bases are fitted. Just only little trimming was needed. Just only 12mm at rear and 8mm on front. It was possible to keep their shape, but I would have to do new cockpit box. Whole kit is not very scale, so I think, that the trimmed side panels are be good enough.

Corsair is sold! Besides I wasnt 100% happy with Phoenix's offering. The average bear would be happy but for what we pay for these things these days it could have been better. Hope the BH P47 doesnt dissapoint.

From what I've seen in this thread, Black Horse didn't try to skimp.
But:
1. Its an ARF
2. Its made by the lowest bidder on contract
3. See number 1

I would say it is same factory line like Phoenix or H9 Ki-43. They use same parts such as dummy pilots or tail struts.

I did the instrument panel for my P-47. As I mentioned before, that one is only semi scale. Those are some differences between the real and my CAD design. The instrument panel is inspired by P-47 D-30.
Let's finish it!

Intersted to see how this turns out. Where did you buy this kit from?

I think saying its an ARF is a cop out. The fact a plane is an ARF doesnt mean its sub quality. I'm sure Tony Tan from from Pilot RC would strongly argue that. Also I think that customers are wanting more for thier hard earned cash pushes companies to another level of quality and detail in models, but I believe some are better than others. The Phoenix and Black Horse brand come from the same family and most possibly made under the same roof. ARFs such as Krill again are another level, and for some its out of reach due to its expensive cost.

Sorry I meant the cockpit kit.

Hows the rest of the build going and do you have any pics?

I found the cockpit equipment on our website. https://www.jpwarbirds.com/a1-5-1-6-scale-p-47/
As you can see I did new design of the instrument panel. Next will be the armour plate behind pilot.

It was not easy to fit the cowl on fuselage and hit the right postion of cowl screws. All pictures I posted here and also on FB in group "RC P-47 Thunderbolt builders, owners and pilots."

The first step on the instrument panel is done. Did some postshading and painted the warning lights. I noticed, that some modelers paint them as they are turn on. Actually I prefer to have whole airplane ready to fly, so no red warning lights on.

Could always do micro leds, logic switch to a onboard tachometer that cuts them off when the telemetry registers engine start ;-)

Warning lights are about warning- low fuel level, turbine overspeed or overheat. I hope, that flights with my Jug will be without any troubles. :-D

Agreed but it would be a very cool scale touch.

I tried clicking on the pics on your website and nothing happens?
With the cowl I found a way to get the cowl aligned and setup, which I used when building the Phoenix Corsair which from the pics in the manual they look like the same mounts.

I did also the additional control panel for the P-47 cockpit. Those extra control panels were ordinary for D-25 and later models.

I really enjoy working on some cockpit. The first 3 gauges are done and under glass. I did the same steps as on ready made instrument panels for our customers.

I was thinking what gunsight use in my P-47. I found D-30 Jug with K-14, but also with Mk.8. I suppose, that Mk.8 was commoner for Thunderbolts. Well I did the Mk.8. Also if I decide to do D-25, I will not have to replace it.

I started painting of the cockpit parts. Those are for the side panels. I will do only some light weathering just like I did on mixtures. The instrument panel I will finish when I done all gauges.
Because I will do not do full depth of the cockpit I am thinking what paint to use on the floor. If I should do just black bottom or same colour as the side panels.

Not a lot of work for today. Just only new CAD design of the gunsight mounting.

I did gunsight mounting and bracket for the Mk.8 gunsight. I had to trimmed the mounting to keep right position of the gunsight. Would be nice to see whole mounting in the cockpit.

Is this plane fully sheeted without lightning holes?
