My Jug is back on bench. New dummy radial engine is almost done.

I stripped mine and re-covered it. First time trying something like that. Seems to be a good flyer. Put a DLE55RA in it

I fiberglassed it first thinking I may paint but ended up using aluminum tape

Well I have decided to do my retracts different. The axle strut to the inside is more like a Zero. I reversed my axle strut to the outside like the the stock P47. I then taped mounting holes for the wheel cover. I can close the minor gap by placing washer under flange at each end mounting bolt. Could shave axle strut but I’m ok with at this time until after Maiden.

Admiral GP60-8925 electric brushless. Originally set it up with a DLE-55 but switched to electric. Less vibration strain on airframe and ease of use.
I have added shims at back of retracts to close gap. I had to shim each retract a bit different to maintain the same strut angle. I had to do this as there was a slight difference in the total retract angle of each retract.
Blemishes and holes will be corrected. I will also paint the black flange at wheel opening to color match for a much better look. I will not use the plastic liners but will paint inside of each wheel well.

Actually i put the FG-60 in the Thunderbolt as the r5 now sits in my Stearman.
The Fg60 pulls the aircraft happily around the sky on a 22x10 prop. The most gentle warbird I've ever owned.

Flair kit Stearman.
