I’ll post up some more pics soon. The “black ply” is also in the wings, both motor boxes and canopy.
To be 100% honest I was disappointed when I saw the black ply as I thought it was a bit piss weak (Aussie saying) in the Phoenix Corsair.
Hope the new version of this is better.
It most certainly feels lighter than the Corsair.

How do the glue joints look? Most of what I can see of the formers looks like 1/8th ply core.

Ribs in the wings look the same?

Even if sandwiched 1/16th, if it is cf and laminated on both sides of the ply it may be enough...just depends on max designed wing load.

The tell all will be around the gear saddles. Wonder if we should consider it a Version 2...?

just noticed...it even has an airframe serial number lol.
Royster..get ya some clip on antenna extensions for your rx..all that cf, the tips will need to be out at the fuse skins, at least.

As per usual I’ll be going over the whole kit with Zap on all joints.

Has anyone made thier own wing guns? The ones that come with the kit are not correct and wrong size. Thinking of using some carbonfibre tubes. Or if there are any web sites where you could but them.

I still have no idea how to buy your gear. Can you tell me the diameter of the wing machine guns please?

They are designed according to blueprints, so 18.18% of the real diameter. But no problem to resize them.
If you look at our website, you will see, that all orders we accept via email. Also you can order from some of our dealers.

Ok so the new design doesnt require a slim servo for the flaps as Manu had to do, however I'm finding it a bit of challenge in getting the geometry right for the aileron linkages. I thought I would use thier hardware as I did on the Phoenix Corsair. At least thier ball links have zero slop in them. A bit tight but I added a touch of silicone spray to help free them up a bit. I dont know why they wanted to tuck the linkage arm for the ailerons through the wing. I would have been fine with the regular straight to servo arm and horn configuration. Anyway its not Top Gun Warbird entry so I'm not too fussed, hence why I'm just sticking with the stock cockpit and pilot. I'll work out roughly what size the guns are and probably use carbonfibre tubes, but I need to make at least the two longest ones removable to fit into my wingbags.

Still not convinced its CF but its most certainly built better than the Phoenix Corsair. As for the manuals they are crap!

Hangar 9 wins hands down on build manuals.

Lol..some things don't translate well from chinese to english. As for the antenna...you know the saying...better safe..etc etc.
Not sure how you could test to see what it is....

Did some more painting on the cockpit. I am not sure about the paint of the rear part of the cockpit behind pilot's seat. In my opinion the canopy rails area should by same color as the cockpit.
When I put the canopy on cockpit deck I find out, that I will have to paint also the part infront of instrument panel.

Torso of seat is almost done. Tomorrow I will add upper mounting tube. Find some US pilot STL on ebay. I will resize the design and start his 3D rounds.

Problems with retracts. Using the supplied retract controller system. When I actuate the retracts the control surfaces jump around (ailerons, flaps, elevators) until the cycle is complete. Using HiTech 645MG servos. 2S lipo with noise suppression ring on wire.
