I figured that’s what I would do but I’ve seen two different marks for CG. I think one of them is for the older UF with tip tanks. I appreciate the info. I’ve seen a ball on the end of the rod that holds the canopy on. Are you familiar with that and how is it done? Mine is just a straight piece a rod so I figured I might make a 90° bend if nothing else.

The Tip Tank Flash is called the Classic Flash, the balance was from the back of the tip tanks. Impossible to do on the UF.
People have flown UF since 2010 with balance from 220mm back from wing/fuse joint (nose heavy-very safe) back to 240mm- very neutral and needing care. My sweet spot is 232mm, but all these figures depend on fuel level at time of balancing. The Evo tank has more fuel capacity at the rear, so you need to balance it around 1/2 a tank or it will be nose heavy.
They are all supplied without the ball attached, same since 2006. There is a 2mm I/d ball in the parts bag to solder/CA to the rod.

No ball in the parts bag. I guess I am going with the 90 degree bend. Thanks for the info/help/advice.

My 2022 Ultra Flash kit didn't contain the ball either. I solder on a ball from a ball link. I added a piece of brass tube to make up the hole size difference.

I did the same and soldered on the ball from a spare ball link.

Default Wing Fit

Hi,
I noticed my wing doesn't fit to the fuselage as nearly as good as other Ultra Flash models I have seen. There are many of them at the field that I go to.
My wing bolts are very tight and there is a considerable gap between the wing and fuselage.
How do I adjust this?

That with the screws tight? Does the boss sit above the wing seat?

The interface is smooth and even on both wing and fuselage.
I think either the top of the wing is too fat or the wing pins are set too low. Or the forward fuselage holes are drilled in the wrong spot.
Have you run in to this before? Since all the models come out of the same mold it seems an unlikely situation.
I'm thinking to sand the wing pins and sand the wing saddle in the fuselage.

I didn’t do anything to it but somehow putting my wing on and taking it off a few times seems to have closed the gap. It still doesn’t look perfect but I’ve flown it quite a few times and I’m pretty happy with the performance.

Not seen it before. Front pins are a possibility. Unusual for CARF though

Default Seams

Make sure you "deseam" the front and back of the wing where it meets the fuselage.
On my UF and Joker that made a difference when it comes to the fit of the wing in the fuselage.

If the wing doesn't slide all the way forward because of a mould seam, there's going to be a gap at the back end.

I sanded the paint off the wing saddle and sanded the tops of the carbon wing pins a little.
I also sanded the back of the wing too. I will try the same for the front.
A little goes a long way. If anyone else does this go slow and check the fit often.

It seems to sit down better now.

I wonder if anyone else has this issue? My UF nose jumps up whenever I run over a small crack on the runway. I feel like my CG is almost neutral(I use the Xicoy balance scale)but I have 24 clicks of up trim.

Which gear?

Balance it accurately with your fingers. 10mm back from the gear cover plate front inner fixing screws.
With the Evo tank maybe balance with no fuel in the main tank the way it sits in the sump

OK, at landing the nose wheel weight is quite light.

Thx. I have the red scheme coming with jp retracts. It was in stock and in usa so should have it next week.

I went hitec servos as usual. K142g4. Going to use a powerbox pioneer. Intairco 175ml uat.

Is the 142 going to give this some speed? Got a good deal on a new 2nd hand one.
