Modeltech Saphir Build

RE: Modeltech Saphir Build
I am so jealous. I can't believe a couple years ago I sold a Saphir I kit thinking it would be something I wouldn't fly. Man I wish I could turn back the hands of time. Now just one thought about your setup. I have a similar setup to yours and had a leak in the pressure line develop at the tank nipple. It seems that over time the pressurized line expanding while being held by the fuel clamp over time was cut. I have since used the lines without clamps and have had no more leaks. Just insure that you use fuel tubing that snuggly fits over the nipples.

Yeah, they fit pretty snugly... I think I'll pitch the clips.
I weighed and balanced it today. 8 lbs. right on the nose ... and a real surprise: CG was PERFECT with no adjustments whatsoever. That was a new one for me.

Another thought, when doing your initial engine runs, do it with as much of the fuel system/tubing in view as possible. I installed a new Hayes tank that unknown to me(at the time) had a crack in the outlet nipple. This allowed the fuel(under pressure) to go to engine, which ran OK, but also to leak out on the inside of the model. Needles to say, there was a lot of soaked stuff down hill from the leak.

I bought a Saphir at a garage sale. I'm installing an electric motor. It has metal retracts, but I don't have a retract servo, so I locked them in the down position.
Would one of you let me know here the CG is supposed to be? All I have found so far is this:
Length 61.22"
Wing span 69.88"
Stab span 28.75"
Wing chord 15.55"
Jack
