Any of you guys interested in a NIB Balsa USA Eindecker 40 kit with the Balsa USA decal set? I have a old friend in poor health that must sell it. He is asking $150 plus actual shipping. I got pictures in interested.

Who said anything about being shot? I wouldn't live long enough to get shot as she would probably just break my neck with the box of wood. As far as living forever, nope not me. I just want to make it long enough, for now anyway, to see Joe Biden and his entire cabinet impeached and, if applicable, thrown in prison

Watching the hearings it looks like the Donald will be waiting on him. At least he'll have company in the memory unit!

I wouldn't start counting chickens just yet. Everyone on the committee was hand picked by Pelosi, all the so called witnesses can't be called reliable, you have two RINOS and a known liar on the committee and, to top it off, the whole fiasco is being run by a former ABC exec. If, when you add it all up, it doesn't sound like a set up and a way to "railroad" DJT, you need to check your math. That is the very reason the Democrats are rushing through this so called hearing, they know everything will change after the midterms

Sorry guys, was just trying to have a little bit of fun. And, for the record, it gets this veteran's blood boiling too. That said, the rest of my post still stands, I would love to be able to take that kit but with all of the projects I've already got going, well, need I say more?

I know what you mean I would consider it if if I hadn't bought 3 Top Flite GE kits a few months back. I was counting kits and short kits and the total number is scary! I have run out of places to hid...er... store them.

I heard that. Heck just talking about my BUSA kits - I have to finish my Citabria Pro, then I have two EAA BIPs, and a second hand P51 kit..

My apologies too... I just couldn't help myself.

I'm working on a Taube 90 and considering a buying a Bristol M.1 at Rhinebeck in September if BUSA intends to be there...

If you have the wing mostly built you are probably a little late in the game. That said, I can understand why you would want to. The Camel wing is quite a surfboard. I've used the Camel rib design on one of my own designs and it is possible to fit a wing tube but there is not a lot of room to spare. Accuracy in the cutting is pretty critical.

Easy peasy, it's a double spar top and bottom, front and back, with shear webs front and back on both spars. I've shear webbed the front and the back of both spar sets except for the area where the joiners would go. Just need to cut out the small section of rib between the spars and shear webs which leaves a square channel/ Use aircraft ply joiners in the resultant slots then hold the wings together with Merlyn locks. Sorta the way the old Ace 1/3 scale Extra 260 held the wings on, works fine.

I would like to join this brotherhood.
Currently, I am building a BUSA Smoothie XL from plans. I got the plans from BUSA, and it will be powered with an RCGF 35cc rear exhaust engine, that I won at the 2021 AMA Jamboree in Wenatchee WA.
On a trip to eastern WA I got crazy lucky and stumbled across a fancy woodworkers store that was having a huge sale, they specialize in exotic hardwoods for tables and woodturning.
Their customers did not buy balsa wood, and they wanted to get the floor space the rack was using.
I bought an almost full Midwest Balsa rack, with a LOT of sheets, sticks, and spruce sticks.
after inventory, I was sort of embarrassed, but then they set the price.

I bought $1150.00 worth of good wood for $75.00

cafguy, If you are not using the engine shown on the plans which are no longer available.
Study your engine carefully, you may need to move the firewall back.

I am using an RCGF engine with an old JZ Products P-51 spinner.
My spinner is spun aluminum and the mounting plate is also spun. It extends 1/2" behind the prop washer.
My engine is 1/2" longer the evolution 33 they used, so I moved the firewall back 1/2" for the engine and 1/2" more for the spinner to allow me to use a flat back spinner if I damage this one.
The engine will be mounted on a 1/2" thick spacer of 9-ply Baltic Birch plywood, I am also making the firewall out of it. I was advised to use 1/2" in a build thread.
I found an excellent build sequence on this forum; rcuniverse.com/forum/kit-building-121/11633698-new-balsa-usa-smoothie-xl-build-3.html

I moved the rear of the firewall back 1-1/4" so fitting a tank may go back past F4 on an extension of the tank floor. I realized air from the engine could blow past F4 through the top removable hatch so I modified it to prevent that.
I am building mine from plans so I can modify things easily
I am just starting the fuselage now, wing and tail surfaces are built.
