Yes, adjust to a pitch setting that will give you 3500 to 3800 maximum RPM on the ground. More than 3800 RPM on the ground will result in the engine exceeding
5000 RPM during flight. This will...

I've always snugged mine using a wrench and just pinky finger torque, this is on a first generation 250 with around 240 flights on it. I have no issues with mine. My buddy has the second generation...

Mike,
Based on the RPMs you are registering with those propellers, it appears that all of the cylinders are making full power. I have never used a turbulator in my Moki and my two friends with high...

Hopefully we can avoid an oil war here, as this is mostly a emotion-driven subject.
I too have been running Redline 2-stroke racing oil in all my gas engines for 10 years now. This includes a Moki...

Tom,
Your overrev theory is sound. Using the same prop setup, 3200 RPM to 3500 RPM is what I use. I feel 3800 RPM is the absolute highest you should use and I recommend against it.
I religiously...

Regarding the Solo/CARF propeller combination, I offer a two data points to counter the notion that you wasted your money. I personally have over 200 problem free flights worth of experience (Corsair...

5000 RPM maximum, and you want to avoid that as much as possible. Most of us have thrown pushrods during the Moki learning process and it is not fun. If the engine sounds like a F1 engine, the RPM is...

It's the Spektrum telemetry stuff. The RPM sensor setup was a bit painfull to get aligned propery but once done it worked pretty good. I find the Spektrum telemetry in my application tends to drop...

Follow what Maxam said and also increase your pitch to bring maximum ground RPM down to 3300-3500. 3800 is too high. I know from telemetry, 3800 on the ground will allow the engine to hit 5000 RPM...

I've only seen this type of failure once on a setup using unsupported extended flex tubes to route the exhaust away from the cowl on an AMR Waco with a 250 in it. I remember 2 maybe 3 of the pipes...

A time tested 1-2 flip technique we've used on 3 different 250s: fuel pump on, choke on, 5-6 solid flips (as in through compression), choke off, ignition on,1-2 solid flips and it's running. 80% of...
