RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the input, I will check this asap.
The Yak is my first gas powered plane and I have no previous experience with tygon fuel lines.
I like to have the clunk line as long...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi guys,

I have a question that perharps already has been answered somewhere in this thread.
(When a thread gets this big it's bound to happen at some point, right?)

I am running a Moki...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi rangerman,

It looks like you will have to modify your plane to fit the 150. It's actually a little longer than the 215/250 for some reason.
See attached drawing.

Good luck!

Hi Scott,

I sent you a PM and also an email with some information several weeks ago.
Did you receive any of the messages?

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

We had some nice and sunny weather in the south of Sweden this weekend.
I assembled the Yak in the back yard to fire up the Moki.

After several turns with choke it gave me a very short but...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Yeahhh, that is an awsome plane!!!
Thanks for posting the link to the video.

It takes some guts to fly that low with a plane like that. (And with a price-tag like that..) :D

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi fellow Moki enthusiasts,

I took a closer look at my intake pipes last weekend, I wanted to change the gaskets before the flying season starts for real.
Just to explain why I can tell you...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi Godflesh,

I have no experience with the 150 and/or the Mentz props but my Biela props for the 250 are pretty thick also.

The rule for threads say that you should have the diameter of...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi there Scott,

The Wildcat is not my favourite fighter from WWII but you just got to love this one!
Thanks for posting the really nice video, the sight of this baby rolling out after a great...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi Don,

Thank you for posting an awsome video. Cool to see a model of a plane not often seen! (Not around where I live anyway)
The 150 seems to pull this bird with authority!
A good friend...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

I have mounted the ignition module on the top of the motor dome in my C-ARF Yak 55SP.
Since there is 8 big louvres to let the hot air out of the engine room it seems to work just fine.

Best...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi there fellow Moki radial lovers,

In case you've missed it, C-ARF is developing a P47 Razorback designed for the Moki 250.
The wingspan will be the same as the Corsair, 2,8m. (110" )

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi Clarence,

I am not sure if there is any significant difference between the 150 and the 215/250 when it comes to the design of the engine mount and the carburator fitted inside of it.
I...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Wow Scott, that P47 looks awsome!
I am really a big warbird fan but decided to build an aerobatic model (Yak55sp) around my 250 having our short runway in mind.
In the future I would like to...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Mitch,

It's really great to read about your success with adjusting your engine. I am running my 250 with a 32:1 mix and might have the L-needle a bit on the rich side. My spark plugs get really...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi guys,

I was at a nice airfield this afternoon/evening and flew my C-ARF Yak three more times. On the third flight, after 5-6 minutes, I heard the engine hesitate during a vertical climb and...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Biela makes really nice carbon props, I have a 32x18 on my 250 (in a C-ARF Yak 55SP) and I am happy with it.
TNT landing gear products sell Biela and hopefully they can order a 32x18 for you...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi guys,

I am using the 250 in a C-ARF Yak 55SP (3-meter wsp) that weighs approx. 48 lbs and the vertical performance is good enough for me.

After the first three flights I realised that...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Regarding the 3W radial, in the Engine menu - look for the 256 STR5.
There are also 11 pictures of it under the news menu.

It seems as this engine is not ready for sale yet (no price tag),...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi snobird,

I was thinking about the 3W Rare Bear when I said 4 bladed prop. On a Yak 55 a 3 bladed would be nice but I am a bit worried of loosing power so I am going with a 32x18 2 bladed...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

I built a C-ARF Yak 55 SP with a Moki 250 up front this winter/spring, I have only 6 flights on it so far. I have started the engine (a lot) both in the test bench and in the model.
The easiest way...
