Pilot-rc PREDATOR 2.2m Sport jet / full composite
#26

Chrisansilver,
With the K140 at high idle she starts moving forward without even opening the throttle. I take off at half throttle with the K140. Try a smaller turbine in it first. If you going to do the 3D jet thing then by all means or stick to the grass then you will be fine. It will be a rocket.
I am thinking of fitting a 16KG to do 3D, will keep you posted.
Enjoy and I wish you many happy flights with the Predator.
Have a great day
Regards
JB

Some More, and remember feel free to ask if you need help with info with the build. If you build with out rushing you could finish it in about 2 to 3 days. This is the first kit that the only thing I glued is the plastic cable supports. The set that I used is same as on the Pilot RC webpage except I put in more flaps (85mm) and 2mm more aileron. All surfaces 25% expo and rudder 40%. Enjoy the flights.
Have a great day

The box arrived safely from Chief Aircraft and have always had good luck from Chief.
The quality of kit was absolutely amazing, fit and finish perfect in every way.
I have built Comp-ARFs, DR Hobbies, Krills and the Pilot Predator is right there with them. Everything that was pre-assembled was tore down and checked and didn't find a single issue.
The Predator balanced perfect at recommended range with the JetCat 220RXI, plenty of room for batteries and electronics to make for a neat install. The included retracts appear to be up to the task and work smoothly, time will tell.
AUW RTF dry weight 28.03 lbs.

Like the blue..
how does it fly with the 220 RXI?
hows the landing speed with the higher residual thrust of the 220?
can you tell me your setup on flaps and elevator settings for takeoff and landing?
Also where are your throws on ail, ele and rudder on flight modes.
I will get maiden on mine on Nov 16th.

This is an absolute awesome scheme! Wish it was offered as one of the available schemes here in the US. I plan to order a green/black Predator in the next few weeks, but would love to have this scheme instead. Was this special ordered? If it's your own design, would you be Ok with someone else requesting it as well?

i have 2 options on tanks, I have a 125oz and just received my custom made tank that carries 160oz. I know the 220 burn rate is 24.5 oz per min at wide open, I figured 18oz average burn rate may be high, so the 125 gives over 6 minutes and 160oz will be 8.8 minutes. Thanks again...

Hi All
Short take off and landing with Predator, it now has a K160G2 fitted. I get 7 minutes flight with on the standard tank supplied. Awesome jet and enjoying it and I have 18 flights with so far no hassle. One out field landing due to turbine bearing frailer straight after take off on flight 4. With out a doubt it is a well constructed jet and can take some ruff landing strips no problem. Enjoy
Have a great day
